Enjoying Company
by Lee on February 17, 2008
My Mom used to tell me that my Dad and her used to enjoy silence in the middle of the night. No lights, no conversation, just the listening to the quiet breathing of each other and knowing that their love was there in the room. Many people are uncomfortable with silence. Perhaps from being used to the constant cacophony of radio and television, as a society we find silence disturbing.
An inability to stay quiet is one of the most conspicuous failings of mankind.
