How To Ensure Your Lost Wallet Gets Returned

by Lee on July 19, 2009

Just about everyone loses a wallet sometime during their life. The time and hassle it takes to cancel all your credit cards (assuming you don’t remember which ones were in the wallet), replace your driver’s license, and dig through your records to prove who you are so you can get replacements can be daunting. And identity thieves make it all the more unlikely you’ll ever see your wallet again.

But with this tip, perhaps you can be one of the lucky ones … carry baby pictures in your wallet and ensure they are visible when it’s opened.

Turns out that psychologists in Edinburgh conducted an experiment last year and have published their results. People with baby pictures in their wallets enjoyed an 88% rate of return, while only 15% of the run-of-the-mill control wallets were returned. Even with no money in it, that’s still a huge rate of return!
