7 Simple Rules For Posting to Scrapbook-Quotes.com

by Lee on February 2, 2009

Friends,

After months of adding to the site without any subscribers, I suddenly find the blog has a small following. For a long time, I prevented folks from posting here at all. But I am willing, if you are willing, to allow others to post to the blog. First, here are

7 Simple Rules For Posting to Scrapbook-Quotes.com

1. Be polite and courteous to your fellow subscribers. Many folks are subscribed only so they can get updates by email or news feed and have no desire to post themselves. Please do not waste Scrapbook-Quotes.com’s time or theirs by posting something you clearly know should not be on this blog.

2. Scrapbook-Quotes.com will moderate the site and may someday grant special permissions to a select few contributors to the blog the ability to author content without review. But that takes trust that is built up over time. So this means you must log in to post and Scrapbook-Quotes.com will review and decide whether your post gets published. Scrapbook-Quotes.com is short staffed so please understand your post may not appear for hours and perhaps even days depending on what’s going on at SQ HQ.

3. Scrapbook-Quotes.com hates spam as much as the next guy, so please don’t waste our time with posts about the latest pills to solve whatever is ailing you. We’re not interested in your dysfunctional quirks and we’re quite certain nobody else reading this blog is either. Anyone trying to make such posts or trackbacks will be blacklisted forever. No questions asked or explanations given.

4. Use real words and not contrived ones (like f.r.e.e. or D!pl0ma) designed to get through the spam filters. If you can’t spell the word correctly or construct a post that your great-grandmother could read to your eight year old without blushing, then don’t post it.

5. You must use a real email address and a pronounceable username when you register because Scrapbook-Quotes.com will verify you really exist before publishing your first post. Garbage user names and email addresses or multiple user names with the same email address will be deleted without warning, comment, or explanation. There is no person on Earth with the name jlksfsd, so that’s an automatic deletion without even thinking about it. Handles are okay as long as they don’t get out of hand.

6. Scrapbook-Quotes.com decisions are final and are not subject to review or reconsideration by anyone. Your use of the site constitutes agreement to all the policies of Scrapbook-Quotes.com, a service provided as is where is and without any implied or explicit warranties. Whatever it is you’re thinking we could be liable for, we now declare that your use of the site constitutes agreement that we are not liable for anything and that you will indemnify and hold us harmless in any and all actions brought by you or through you. If you absolutely must, go here to read the terms and conditions legalese.

7. Please attribute. If you know the author or person of a quote, poem, etc., please include it in your post. There are many colloquialisms out there that are unattributed funnies, quotes, and such. And everyone should be able to enjoy them freely. Even so, we do provide attribution whenever possible. And if someone has a copyright policy expressly requiring permission for ANY quotation or reference (like Snopes.com, for example), we follow their rules for gaining permission first. That can mean your post might take days to be published, or never appear at all.

Okay? Everyone agreed? Well then, you’re invited to post whatever quotes, catch phrases, poems, recipes, and party ideas/favors you have by registering here. And most of all, have fun with this.
